On updating Lumia to wp 8.1 using "preview for developers" app

Microsoft releases the new update for windows based phones for the developers. Code named "BLUE", upgrades the phone from wp8 to wp8.1.
The preview might have been discontinued at present(this fact points towards the ill made os update).

PROS:

1.CORTANA-The new personal assistant for windows phone analogous to SIRI and google NOW.

2.Notifications centre-Inclusion of new notifications bar that slides from the top just like android.

3.Swipe to type-The all new record holding in fast typing swipe keyboard introduced.

4.Storage sense-Now move your apps to SD and recover some space on your phone memory.

5.Grouped caller list-Now the caller list groups together the similar entries which is quite a necessity.

6.Start screen background-Change the old boring tiles to new wallpaper of your choice.

7.Volume control gets a makeover-Handle the volumes of media and ringer separately.

8.Calender and IE get updates-better looking calender and new IE with reading mode.

9.Music and videos updated to sync with Xbox.

10.Extra grid icons.

11.Photos app get a makeover.

CONS:

1.Very poor Battery life after update.

2.Xbox Music-No swipe to change track(as on wp8),no 'newly added',no 'history' and you get to know about storage of music(whether on SD or in phone) only while multi-selection.

3.Wifi-Auto disconnect on screen sleep now not available. Also you can only turn on wifi from notifications bar.

4.Sounds-Delayed lock/unlock sounds.

5.Games-Now all the games show up in the menu, ungrouped.

6.Photos-pinch unzoom to browse through photos now not a feature.

7.New camera app not ass satisfying as the earlier one.

8.Apps lag when moved to SD.

9.CORTANA released only for US.

Tip:You can get CORTANA by changing the phone region to US and language to English(US) and check for update again.

VERDICT : DO NOT UPDATE YOUR PHONE TO WP8.1. RIGHT NOW IS NOT THE PERFECT TIME.WAIT FOR A STABLE UPDATE FROM MICROSOFT.

*Tested on Nokia Lumia 720 in India.
